The State Audit Office of Hungary received the delegation of the Nanjing Audit University, which hosts the training centre of the SAI of China. At the meeting, László Domokos, President of SAO outlined SAO’s integrity survey and its activity of auditing integrity, the analysis and training activity of SAO, while the representatives of the Nanjing Audit University presented their training programme implemented jointly with the National Audit Office of China.
In order to train reliable auditors with a broad professional knowledge, several SAIs establish the professional background of future or already active auditors in the framework of a separate training programme in cooperation with a university. An example for that is the training organised jointly by SAO and the University of Miskolc and it is in the same spirit that the Chinese National Audit Office established its training centre on the campus of the Nanjing Audit University. In order to identify the similarities between the training propgrammes and discuss the relevant experience, László Domokos, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary received Liu Wanghong, President of the Nanjing Audit University and his colleagues.
At the meeting the President of SAO presented the background and results of the Integrity Project of SAO and he outlined SAO’S activity of auditing integrity as well as the performance of managers of companies owned by the state. Furthermore, the Head of SAO shared the analysis activity of SAO, with special regard to the public financial journal managed by SAO, the Public Finance Quarterly.
The training system of the State Audit Office of Hungary was presented by Ms Ildikó Farkasinszki, Director of Organisation of SAO. In her presentation, she outlined the elements of the training system of SAO and their content. She touched upon among others the skill development and leadership trainings, as well as the public administration analyst training implemented jointly with the University of Miskolc. An important element of the training system of SAO is the SAO Academy, in the framework of which SAO aims at training ethical public financial managers. The most recent example for that is the conference and leadership training programme organised for leaders of museums in October 2017.
At the meeting, the Chinese delegation presented their practice and experience about the training of auditors at a university level. The Nanjing Audit University offers broad training for staff members of the National Audit Office of China. Besides theoretical training the university supports the professional preparation of auditors for specific audits, thus contributing to the efficiency of audits. Furthermore, the Nanjing Audit University also offers a rich training programme for foreign students in the framework of a state scholarship programme. At the meeting, László Domokos, who was granted the title of honorary professor of the Nanjing Audit University in July 2017, was invited to hold presentations sharing his professional experience at the Nanjing Audit University.
